OUR COOKIES

These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. We use cookies to store information about visitor preferences and to record user-specific information on visits and pages the user views so as to provide a custom experience. In regard to third-party advertisers, Coast + Anchor has no access or control over these cookies. You should review the respective privacy policies on any and all third-party ad servers for more information regarding their practices and how to opt-out.

If you wish to disable cookies you may do so through your web browser options. Instructions for doing so and for other cookie-related management can be found on the specific web browsers’ websites.

THIRD-PARTY COOKIES

The following service providers provide cookies for various purposes related to the operation of our business including traffic monitoring, customized access to certain content, advertising, and affiliate programs. Each provider’s purpose and their own privacy policy are provided below.

Amazon Affiliates Cookie

Amazon Affiliates, a third party system, uses cookies to serve advertisements and links to products on Amazon.com.  You may read more about Amazon Affiliates and their Operating Agreement here.

AFFILIATE LINKS AND PROGRAMS

Coast and Anchor is an affiliate with the Amazon Affiliates Program.  This program allows bloggers to be compensated by a very small amount through purchases made with their affiliate links in my posts.  It will be noted on the post if I am including an affiliate link.  I do not use these affiliate links unless I find them applicable and potentially useful to my visitors. They do not increase the cost of the item should you choose to use the link.  If  you do not wish to use them you may always make your purchase through a separate link.  Also, as stated previously, any and all opinions stated will always be honest and my own.  The Amazon Affiliate Program, as a third party, also uses cookies as a tracking device for their advertisements on this site and links.

EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

ANALYTICS

Our hosting provider monitors traffic and maintains logs including IP addresses for performance and security reasons.

In addition, we use Google Analytics as a traffic monitoring service to provide us with insights into how visitors use our site. The Google Analytics privacy policy is available here: Google Privacy Policy.

We only share personal information with third parties when we have a good faith belief that sharing the information is necessary to comply with the law; enforce or apply our Terms of Use including investigation of potential violations thereof; detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Coast and Anchor, our Users, or others.  We do not sell, rent, share, or otherwise disclose personal information from Users for any commercial purpose.

HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

WHERE WE SEND YOUR DATA

The information we collect depends on how the User sets up Akismet for the Site, but typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).
